It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of two of our AHC angels, Whit Mir and Jessica Scanniello from the United States
Sharon (AHC Foundation) received notice from Whit´s mom, Nancy, that Whit had passed away Nov. 22 while on vacation.
Many had the opportunity to meet Whit at the family meeting in 2011. Whit had just turned 31 and had expressed to his mom that he wished his brain be donated to science if he died, hoping it would help find answers for other AHC patients. With Dr Kathy Swoboda’s help we were able to grant his wish.
Whit´s obituary
Lynn Egan (AHC Foundation)received notice from Chris Scanniello, mom of Jessica, age 25. Jessica had passed away in April of this year. Jessica was complicated, having suffered a stroke at age 10. She also suffered from seizures that they were never able to control. The last six months were extremely rough as she spent much of this time in the hospital trying to find a medication that would help.
