MY JOURNAL COURIER REPORTS

It was magic to see friends who were athletes, cheerleaders, fans and even the newbees enjoying the March Mayhem Old Timers’ basketball game. After the winter that we have had, it was pure joy to come into the school and remember the “good times.” For a brief few hours, we cheered.

We would especially like to thank our media, the Journal-Courier, The Source, TV stations’ calendar, the Scott County Times and WEAI/WLDS. You answered our call by getting the word out. We were blessed with over 60 corporate sponsors and 200 Friends of AHC. The raffle prizes were given away at half time and the grand prize winner was Mary Wardell. Other prize winners were Steve Moore (wine rack), Judy Bigley (slab of ribs), Denny Moore and Dawn Branham (gift certificate from Turner Tree Service), Betty Howard (Buffalo Wild Wings gift certificate), Evan Schineker (A. Gaudio deer sign), Shirley Jaquot ($100 in memory of Gary Pence), Rhonda Casey and Mike Hopper (lawn chairs from Perma-Bound Books), Doe Kemper (one year membership to Plum Creek Golf Course), Jeannene Koslosky (cooler), Mandy Hatchel (Cardinal blanket), Mike McCarthy (three month membership to the Bob Freesen YMCA), Ed Korte ($100 in memory of Ken and Tommy Garrett), Janice Jefferson and Brenda Bettis (stepping stones by Jewel Palmer), and Victor Stice (F150 Raptor racing truck).

To add to the success of the day, there was over $15,000 raised for the research of Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood and AHCKIDS.org. We still have some outstanding bills so what was cleared is undetermined, but all areas were successful.

“Thanks” seems inadequate. To have so many continue to encourage and support our cause makes us humbly grateful. We could quit and say, thanks to you, we have done our part, but we are determined for a cure by the grace of God.
