Today is the 4th annual „Let´s cure AHC“ walk in Raleigh NC.  CURE AHC is hoping to raise 50.000$ today by hosting this great event for the 4th time.

Here is their add from the website www.cureahc.org

Help us cure AHC! This fundraiser benefits those who suffer from Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC), a very debilitating neurological disorder. Local children Matthew Wuchich & Kaylin Wimbush hope that runners & walkers will raise $50,000 at this event towards curing them so they can live a normal life.

Raleigh area residents Matthew (Age 5) & Kaylin (Age 3) suffer from the very debilitating disease Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC)

Cure AHC walk 2012

What is AHC like?

Movement problems of Cerebral Palsy
Learning challenges of autism
Behavioral issues of ADHD
Epilepsy in at least 50% of cases (Matthew is one of them)
Bouts of temporary paralysis that last for minutes to days at a time
In other words…VERY DEBILITATING & HEARTBREAKING!

Matthew, & Kaylin, despite these challenges, are very determined & good spirited children! You can see in the picture above Matthew in his latest favorite pastime, pretending to drive a vehicle.

They will never get to do this for real unless we cure AHC
They will not get to live independently
They will not get to participate in society
Group homes or nursing facilities will be their future
An alarmingly increasing number of AHC sufferers are DYING –mostly from seizures
Thousands may be undiagnosed or misdiagnosed
Matthew’s parents, Jeff & Renee Wuchich, are working to meet this disease HEAD ON & make a difference for all who suffer from AHC
YOU CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE BY PARTICIPATING & FUNDRAISING TO CURE AHC!
